SGT. FRED F. CARROLL

U.S. ARMY

Sgt. Carroll is the son of Ollie and JoAnn Carroll of Chaffee. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1987.

He joined the Army in 1987, and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood. Before being discharged in 1990, he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colo.

Carroll then began attending Southeast Missouri State University, and joined the Missouri National Guard Unit 1221 of Dexter.

He also worked part-time at Whitaker Hardware in Chaffee. Ollie Carroll said his son likes to read and listen to country western music. He also likes just about any kind of snack food. "He would also love to hear from friends," his father said.
