Sgt. Horman is the son of James Horman of Cape Girardeau and Mary Carlin of Corpus Christi, Texas.
A radio operator, his unit was activated on Dec. 26. He left for Saudi Arabia Jan. 3.
Before being sent to Saudi Arabia, he lived in Corpus Christi with his wife, Susie and their 3-year-old son, Brooks.
He was previously stationed at San Antonio, Texas, in the Air Force Reserves, and is presently assigned to an Army unit. His father said he would enjoy receiving letters.
