MALDEN -- Dr. Jerry Richardson, assistant professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, will be joined by the "Faculty Three and Friends" for a jazz recital at the Malden Community Center Thursday at 7 p.m.

Although primarily a guitarist, Richardson also performs as a saxophonist and vocalist. He has been an active jazz-pop performer throughout Southeast Missouri area and has performed with such touring entertainers as drummer Ed Shaughnessy, Bob Hope, The Drifters, The Shirells and jazz saxophonist Nathan Davis.

Joining Richardson in the "Faculty Three" are bassist David Green and percussionist Dan Dunavan. Green and Dunavan are associate professors of music at Southeast.

The three will be joined by pianist "Bud" Miget and vocalist-instrumentalist Mimi Kinnison.

The concert will feature Richardson performing such jazz standards as "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," "Stomping at the Savoy" and Latin tunes such as "Corcovado" and "One Note Samba."

He will be joined by the "Faculty Three and Friends" to perform a repertoire from the "be-bop," cool and swing jazz eras.
