KANSAS CITY -- Youngsters with an artistic flair can win national and international recognition for entering the 1991 International Art Contest.

The contest is sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Aeronautics Association in cooperation with Federation Aeronautique Internationale.

The theme of this year's contest is "Modern Explorers of the Air." The contest is open to youths 5-16. All entries must be postmarked by April 11 and must be received no later than April 15.

Nine awards will be given in three age categories in the central region of the nation. Nine national winners will be selected from the winning regional entries. Those entries will compete with entries from 10 countries for gold, silver and bronze medals.

Contest rules and entry forms are available from the FAA public affairs office, 601 E. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo. 64106.
