NU WEIGH BODY TONING SERVICE OPENS IN CAPE

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Nu Weigh Body Toning Salon recently opened in Cape Girardeau at 125 S. Broadview Suite 2. Owner/manager Sheila Allen said the facility is the only one in Cape Girardeau County.

"We use exercise tables," she said. "We do not use aerobics or calisthenics since it is not a weight loss system. The system tones muscles, helps circulation, and helps reduce stress."

The clientele use several different stations in the process. "The tables are motorized," she said. "Each one is for a different part of the body. They include the torso flex; stretch; circulator; tummy, waist and hip; sandbag and leg tables. These are the six basic ones."

Mary Daniels, who opened Nu Weigh salons in Scott City, Jackson, and Cape Girardeau previously, is working with Allen temporarily on a consultant basis.

Nu Weigh has a manufacturing plant in Doniphan.
