Two undergraduate students, Melinda Gray and Mark Wetzler, participated in the physics research.

Gray recently presented this paper at the regional meeting of the Society of Physics Students at Springfield, Mo., where it won the first place award. The research paper also received a second place award at the Missouri Academy of Science meeting held in Fulton.

The awards were based on the quality of research, method of presentation and thoroughness.
