Tom Tucker, executive director of the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission, said the meeting will serve as a refresher course for local officials who deal with the National Flood Insurance Program, and as an introductory course for those not completely familiar with the program.

"We feel that it is important for local government to have individuals present to participate in the workshop so that each county and municipality in the region knows of its requirements and responsibilities with regard to the Flood Insurance Program and any changes that may have occurred in the regulations," Tucker said.

The registration fee for the conference is $20 at the door. The fee includes a noon meal, breaks and materials from the workshop. For additional information, call 751-2116 or 547-8357.
