A nice touch this year was the decision to commission a piece of original art for the award winner. Shivelbine was presented a soft-hammered hollowwork silver chalice by Dean Spencer, coordinator of the School or Art and Art History at the University of Iowa. The chalice is similar to work Otto Dingeldein created.

Congratulations to Leland "Freck" Shivelbine for his long and durable contributions to the arts.
