To the editor: Once again, I am ashamed of the voter turnout in Cape Girardeau County. Voting is a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Why the residents of Cape don't use the right is a mystery to me. They continue to complain about poor road conditions, sales taxes and sewer repairs, but they make virtually no effort to make changes...

Once again, I am ashamed of the voter turnout in Cape Girardeau County. Voting is a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Why the residents of Cape don't use the right is a mystery to me. They continue to complain about poor road conditions, sales taxes and sewer repairs, but they make virtually no effort to make changes.

Changes can be brought about by voting. Cape residents can influence ideas for changes by voting. They can make a difference in our city and state governments. They are important in our community. They should sow this importance by voting next time.
