SEMINARY DEVELOPMENT WILL BENEFIT PERRYVILLE AND REGION

Officials of the Congregation of the Mission, Midwestern Province, announced major development plans for the approximately 650 acres surrounding their venerable seminary property in Perryville this week. Plans are for multiple uses, among them residential and commercial/retail developments, including a hotel, plus a golf course.

The Vincentians first established a presence in Perry County when it was within the Louisiana Territory in 1818. They were a major presence there until the seminary closed in 1985. This welcome news marks a bold departure. Promise is great for this well-situated property, and this week's news bodes well for the future of Perryville.
