Year after year it's the same thing; nothing but country music. I can't remember a rock concert at the fair since the mid-1980s. I went to a concert in Perryville over the weekend and saw a huge crowd of rock 'n' roll fans. Survivor and Night Ranger were excellent, and it was a nostalgic night for many of us thirtysomethings with careers and kids. I cannot fathom why the people who organize the fair won't book a rock 'n' roll show and give one night to the rock 'n' roll fans.

I realize that the popularity of country music in this area is huge, but every night of the fair does not have to be country music. If Perryville can book two great rock bands, then imagine the shows Cape could have. I guess I'll have to take my money to St. Louis for a good rock show.
