Missouri was recently blessed with the arrival of Charlton Heston and first lady Hillary Clinton. You don't often see celebrities coming into Missouri to try to influence the outcome of a state proposition. This usually happens in California, where every event warrants national news coverage.

Maybe the retired actor was trying to make up for the '60s when he was on the other side of gun control. Maybe the first lady, in a show of motherly instincts, was trying to protect President Bill in case he showed up in a Missouri hotel room with his pants down.

What a week. With their arrival, Missouri was put back on the map. The sad part is that neither thought Missourians could make up their own minds correctly without their celebrity influence. I would think that both should have known better. Missourians are not puppets of celebrities or the news media. We have our own minds.
