To the editor: The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri would like to express its appreciation for the kind donation made by two girls. Jessica and Kelly set up a lemonade stand and donated the proceeds to the animal shelter. The shelter took in over 5,400 animals last year, yet we receive no federal, state or United Way funding. So donations like this and many others are critical to the success of our mission to save animals' lives...
