To the editor: I'm amazed by the history lesson in the letter from Gladys Woods. However, when I think of Santa Claus, I don't honor pagan gods. Instead, I am left with a little smirk remembering when my daughter was old enough to ask, "Is there really a Santa Claus?" I answered, "Of course. Santa is Grandma, me and anyone else who is loving and caring enough to give of themselves."...

To the editor:

I'm amazed by the history lesson in the letter from Gladys Woods. However, when I think of Santa Claus, I don't honor pagan gods. Instead, I am left with a little smirk remembering when my daughter was old enough to ask, "Is there really a Santa Claus?" I answered, "Of course. Santa is Grandma, me and anyone else who is loving and caring enough to give of themselves."

When I hang my wreath, I'm not worshipping some pagan god. Instead I am decorating my house much in the same way you would put a pretty pillow on your couch.

The tree is for hanging ornaments from the years gone by to remember all the love I have received.

Finally, but by no means last, I thank Jesus for being there.
