LETTERS: GOOD CHOICE FOR SEMO

To the editor:

I read with special interest in the Chronicle of Higher Education that Dr. Dale F. Nitzschke has been appointed president at Southeast Missouri State University, and I write to congratulate those associated with Southeast Missouri State University who participated in the decision to name Dr. Nitzschke as their new leader. Dr. Nitzschke is an outstanding individual who will provide great leadership.

During my years at Marshall University, I had the pleasure of serving as the director of the School of Journalism and dean of the College of Liberal Arts when Dr. Nitzschke was president there. I got to know him well, and I can say with confidence that he will take your university forward and make it a better place to study and work. I believe students, staff and faculty at Southeast Missouri State University are fortunate that Dr. Nitzschke chose to accept the position. I know for me personally the years I worked for Dr. Nitzschke were some of the most rewarding and fulfilling I've spent in higher education.
