I response to your recent article on students who come from other countries and other states to attend Southeast Missouri State University, I would like to add one bit of information. The article seemed to state that Missouri universities had no special or unique programs that appealed to out-of-state students.

The historic preservation program in the Department of History here at Southeast is one of only four programs in the United States that offers an undergraduate degree in historic preservation. Students currently enrolled in the program come from Japan, California, Idaho, Michigan, Kansas, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arkansas, New Jersey, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, South Dakota, Arizona, Florida, New York, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Missouri.

I think the historic preservation program qualifies as a special program that attracts out-of-state students.
