To the editor:

The 75th anniversary of women's right to vote was Aug. 26, and now seems a good time for me to commend Mary Kasten on her outstanding service to the citizens of your area as your state representative. Mary works tirelessly on the concerns that affect each of you.

Mary serves on the House Budget Committee, which makes recommendations to the full House on the spending of your tax dollars. She also sits on the Higher Education Committee and on the Children, Youth and Families Committee. She has been a leader in the welfare-reform debate and in promoting Caring Communities.
