Missouri grass-roots taxpayers are becoming more and more frustrated as the Nov. 8 Election Day approaches. An intensive and misleading campaign against Amendment 7, or the Hancock II Amendment, has ensued. Large, organized, special-interest groups have for many years been feeding off the public treasury. their own personal gain has presented a danger to the future generations of Missouri taxpayers.

The national debt is growing larger everyday. Spending at every level of government is out of control. Federal, state and local taxes take over 40 percent of an average American taxpayer's gross pay. Without voter control on these taxes future taxpayers will have a difficult time attaining the American Dream.

It is time to start a change. Starting with our own state, Missouri voters can regain control of the spending of their tax dollars. By voting for the right to decide when and how large spending increases will occur, voters can also regain some control over their taxes.

Last year the Missouri legislature passed $500 million dollars in new taxes without a vote of the Missouri taxpayers even though it was in violation of the Missouri Constitution.
