LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: TAKING THE BLIZZARD RHYME CHALLENGE

Dear Editor,

Ken Newton's column, "A crackling fire, and still nothing to say," carried a disgruntled tone and concluded with a challenge -- "Rhyme that." Wanting to nurse your chilled spirit, I offer the following:

Ole Man Winter, please keep

Master Blizzard away,

Just cuz Ole Ken Newton

expressed dismay

Of your majesty, of your breath-taking

view of snow,

The whitewash trick that

soon will go.

"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."

Lo, SOME truly enjoy the winter stage.

So, please ignore Ole Ken, you see,

He's just showing his age.
