LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: COMMUNITY MADE TOYBOX A SUCCESS

To the Editor,

The Cape Girardeau Junior Chamber of Commerce expresses sincere thanks to all those who helped make Operation Toybox 1993 a great success.

We would like to thank the people of Cape and the surrounding areas for their donations of toys and money. This year there were a record number of applications. Without the generosity of the public, many of these children would not have had any Christmas. We must also thank the businesses, schools, scout troops, service clubs and other organizations.

A special thank you to Gary Stanley for providing us with a nice heated facility to run this project. We would also like to thank the staff and management of the Southeast Missourian. Our partnership in this project has grown stronger over the years. Peggy Scott and Cathryn Maya did a wonderful job with the stories in the paper and Kim McDowell coordinated the Southeast Missourian portion of the projects success.

The Cape Girardeau Junior Chamber of Commerce is involved in many community projects during the year, but this is the project for which we are the most proud. Thank you Cape Girardeau for your support in 1993.
