THE PUBLIC MIND: STOLEN SIGNS SEEMS LIKE ORGANIZED EFFORT TO STACK DECK

To the editor:

"Vote No on Riverboat Gambling"

These words must strike fear in the hearts of some riverboat gambling proponents. This must be the case due to the mysterious disappearance of yard signs with the Vote No message.

Approximately 40 yard signs remain from a beginning total of 300. There would appear to be an organized effort to remove the signs from the community's view. Maybe this is just another attempt to "stack the deck" for riverboat gambling.

Come on Cape Girardeau, don't gamble with our future. Vote No.
