Ann H. Parkinson, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 25, 2020, at Life Care Center.

She was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Olean, New York, to James and Marion Koch Henry. She and Robert Parkinson were married Feb. 14, 1959, in Syracuse, New York.

Ann attended Purdue University and Southeast Missouri State University.

She was a receptionist at Chateau Girardeau.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served in the roles of deacon, elder and librarian. She was also a volunteer with the Girl Scouts as Otahki Council president as well as a troop leader.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Parkinson of Cape Girardeau; children, Laurie (Alan) Longwell of Union, Missouri, and Doug Parkinson and Donna (Glen Monehan) Parkinson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandchildren, Greg and Cara Parkinson of Cape Girardeau and Curt (Kaydi) Longwell of St. Clair, Missouri; great-grandchild, Oliver Longwell; sister-in-law, Kay Parkinson of Fort Myers, Florida; and a niece, nephews and many great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter-in-law, Becky Parkinson; one brother, James Henry III; and one brother-in-law, David Parkinson.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ellen Gurnon officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church.
