Local aviatrix, Margie Loiseau-Bauerle of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in East Prairie, Missouri, to Flossie Cox Powers and Lucius Alvie Powers.

She graduated from East Prairie High School in 1948, City Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1951 and St. John's School of Anesthesia in Springfield, Illinois in 1953. During her career she worked as a nurse anesthetist at City Hospital in St. Louis, was the director of anesthesia at Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado, Arkansas, and was the first nurse anesthetist (CRNA) in Cape Girardeau at Saint Francis Hospital in 1957.

Marge was a well-known pilot and charter member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, an international organization of female pilots. She was the first area woman to fly in the Powder Puff Derby, a transcontinental air race for female pilots, competing in 1967 and 1972.

Throughout her life, she had an adventuresome spirit which took her to many parts of the world as a student of nature, pilot and hiker. She had a remarkable curiosity and passion for learning and was a mentor to many.

She actively participated in numerous community and civic organizations. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Association of Nurse Anesthetist, Cape Girardeau Historical Association, P.E.O. Chapter LY, SEMO Kennel Club, American Boxer Club, Humane Society of Southeast Missouri and Cape Girardeau Public Library advisory board and SEMO Master Gardeners and was a hospice volunteer at Southeast Health and Saint Francis Medical Center. She was on Chateau Girardeau Foundation Board and was the creator of the Chateau's Wildflower Trail.

She is survived by her sons, Frank W. Hall II of Oro, Arizona, James T. Hall, O.D. and John P. Hall, D.O. of Cape Girardeau and Robert J. Loiseau of Houston. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Frank W. Hall, M.D., Paul B. Loiseau and James A Bauerle; sister, Frances Britt; brother, Alvin Powers; and sons, Roland K. Hall and Paul B. Loiseau Jr.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral. A private family memorial will be held in the future.
