Larry David McCart, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at Lutheran Home.
Larry was born March 14, 1943, in Hillsboro, Illinois, to the late James and Alice Draper McCart. He and Connie Owens were married Feb. 27, 1960, in Raymond, Illinois.
Larry worked for the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local No. 3 in St. Louis for 28 years, as well as the Cape Girardeau area for nearly 10 years. He and his wife, Connie, loved to go camping, horseback riding and traveling. He was involved with and cared deeply about the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship program in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Cape Bible Chapel.
Loving survivors include his wife of 60 years, Connie McCart of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Tami (Kirk) Perkowski of Washington, Missouri; sons, Ty (Gloria) McCart of Hoene Springs, Missouri, and Troy (Sheila) McCart of Pacific, Missouri; brother, Loy (Catherine) McCart of Athens, Illinois; grandchildren, Lauren (Luke) Lowe, Alyssa (Craig) Bremerkamp, Kraig (Vivian Bouse) Perkowski, Rebecca (Roald) Punselie, Sarah (Bruce Schwerdt) McCart, Tatum and Jude McCart; eight great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson, Eric McCart.
Due to COVID-19, private family services will be held. Private burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Larry's memory to the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, P.O. Box 154, Jackson, MO 63755.
