David Delaine Bacon was born March 30, 1950, to Melvin Delaine and Marie Helen Telle Bacon at Cape Girardeau and departed this earth Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. David attended Trinity Lutheran School, Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. David Delaine Bacon was born March 30, 1950, to Melvin Delaine and Marie Helen Telle Bacon at Cape Girardeau and departed this earth Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

David attended Trinity Lutheran School, Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. Following in his father's footsteps, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation, serving four years.

After retirement, David worked part time as a driver for CTA of Cape Girardeau.

David loved going to the Indianapolis 500 and has quite the collection of Indy memorabilia.

He is survived by his nephews, David Allen Dickinson and Charles "Chuck" Delaine Dickinson, and brother-in-law, Charles Dickinson, all of Hartville, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Louise Dickinson; and infant twin sisters, Amy and Lisa Bacon.

Per David's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation rites were performed by Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
