Fern Olive Lange, 88, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 16, 1931, in the state of Kansas, daughter of Columbus F. "Lum" and Cora R. Nelson Crader. She and Richard F. Lange were married Jan. 15, 1947, in Arkansas.

Fern was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked for Todt Industrial for 20 years, and in 1980, she became the owner/operator of Capaha Realty in Cape Girardeau. She was a founding member of Cape Girardeau County Multi Listing Service and was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts and Department 56 Villages, and she really enjoyed her dogs. Fern was a kind, compassionate and happy person who took delight in assisting others.

Survivors include a son, Gary (Katie) Lange of Cape Girardeau; two stepgrandchildren; and great-stepgrandchildren, Tracy Adams, Kaylee and Taylor Sweat.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years and her parents.

There will be no services at this time.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Saxony Lutheran High School.
