Joseph Andrew Yuede, 25, of Cape Girardeau completed his mission on this earth Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, after a tragic accident while preparing for a hunting trip with friends.

Born May 30, 1995, Joseph was the second-born son of William "Bill" and Ann Marshall Yuede. He is the beloved brother of Mathew, Jorjann and William.

Joseph was a May 2020 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness. He was a proud brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and served as new member coordinator, recruitment chair, standards board member, programing board member and risk management board member. While earning his degree, he worked as farm manager for Westrich Farms, LLC, and was a soil fertility consultant for TerraTek.

Joseph attended Notre Dame Regional High School and was a member of the wrestling team for three years. In 2013, he was district wrestling champion and competed at the state level. Graduating in 2014, he received the Saint Francis Gift of Fraternity Award which states: "Fraternity is friendliness. The tendency of humankind is to mix socially."

Joseph achieved Life Rank in Boy Scouts, Troop 5. He completed the three High Adventures of Scouting that include the Northern Tier, Florida Sea Base and Summit Bechtel Reserve and was elected to the Order of the Arrow.

Joseph was a consummate wordsmith and developed clever nicknames for his many friends and loved ones. His favorite times were spent gathering friends and loved ones to share time together. From camping and sporting events, to fishing trips and relaxing campfires, Joseph was always the glue in every group.

Over the years, Joseph became a self-taught chef and delighted many with his culinary skills. Some of his best works included Thanksgiving turkey delicately brined for three days, standing crown roast of lamb with leeks au gratin on Christmas Eve, grilled stuffed salmon on a cedar plank and his newfound spicy crawfish boils. With every presentation, he delighted in the enjoyment of those who were lucky enough to be at his table.

In addition to his countless friends, loving survivors include his parents; brothers and sister; grandparents, John and Barbara Marshall; aunts and uncles, Bobby Yuede, Florence and Mark Harold, John Marshall Jr., Jennifer and Dan Fritsche; and cousins, Kathleen, Sean and Karoline Harold; Grace, Claire, Jack, Austin, Lilly and Ella Fritsche.

Joseph was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents, George and Bertha Yuede, and his uncle, Samuel Austin Marshall.

Visitation will begin at noon and conclude at 5:30 p.m. Monday with parish prayers at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Joseph's first heavenly act of fraternity will be to gather his family and friends for a celebration of love, support and joy as they continue to celebrate his life. Join the family at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau immediately following parish prayers. Guests are welcome from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
