ORAN, Mo. -- Wilma Gosche Metz, 101, of Oran went to be with her Lord Friday, Oct. 16, 2020. She passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born Nov. 27, 1918, in Bleda (Caney), Missouri, daughter of Tony and Ida Dannenmueller Gosche. She and Jerome Metz were married May 27, 1941, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. He passed away March 14, 1990.

Wilma was a homemaker and later worked part-time at the Oran Post Office with her husband. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran and a member of the St. Ann Sodality.

She loved to play cards and taught each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play rummy. Wilma also enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals and kept her own scorecard while watching them on television. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, extended family and her faith; her positive, fun nature and, of course, her beautiful blue eyes and sweet smile.

Loving survivors include a son, Don (Sally) Metz of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a niece she raised, Marlene (Robert) Bell of New Hamburg, Missouri; three grandchildren, Todd (Stacey) Metz of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Katherine (Aaron) Johnson and Kristen (Justin) Friedly, both of Fort Collins, Colorado; 10 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Mallory Metz of Hattiesburg, Ian, Lucy, Nora and Stella Johnson of Fort Collins, and Brynnan, Kaelyn, Avery and McKinley Friedly of Fort Collins. Also surviving are many stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, with the Revs. Joseph Kelly and Normand Varone as con-celebrants.
