Sherri Lynn Mehner, 66, of Cape Girardeau went to be with the Lord at 8:47 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at her home.

She was born Oct. 27, 1953, in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Jeannette Heimburger. Sherri was married to James Brickler for 11 years, and they had two sons, Jim and Mark.

She and Jack Mehner married in 1986 and enjoyed 34 years together with their families.

Sherri learned to work in her dad's construction business and continued to expand her education through licensing and sales experience in real estate, then life, health and security sales, and as a sales representative for the family business, Advanced Business Systems. She had the privilege of working the past few years at La Croix United Methodist Church in spiritual formation and as a small group leader and Stephen Minister. She was also a chaplain at Southeast Hospital.

She received great joy from times with her family and friends. She loved to worship God, pray and serve with other Christian friends in her community.

Survivors include husband, Jack Mehner; children, Jim (Jenny) Brickler and Mark (Emily) Brickler; stepchildren, Connie (Dale) Hahs, Cathy Waltz, John (Molly) Mehner and Rob (Kristy) Mehner; four grandchildren, Ben, Addelyn, Grayson and Harrison Brickler; eight stepgrandchildren and six great-stepgrandchildren.
