Orville Warner Sr.

God called Orville Ray Warner Sr., 86, of Cape Girardeau home Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Kennett, Missouri, to the late Henry and Ruth Mae Brown Warner.

Orville and H. LaVerne Moore were married Nov. 8, 1952, in Cape Girardeau.

He worked as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Cape Girardeau for 32 years, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include his wife, H. LaVerne Warner of Cape Girardeau; son, Orville Ray (Amy) Warner Jr., of Millersville; daughter, Beverly Gwen Warner of Arnold, Missouri; sister, Edna Carter of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Tori, Josh, Amber, Bradley, Travis and Chauntel; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Sandra Kay Baker and Connie Sue Wissman; brother, James Warner; and sister, Elsie Hazel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Burgess officiating.

Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
