LOHMAN, Mo. -- Delmer Eugene Brown, 73, of Lohman passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at his home. He was born June 26, 1947, in Burfordville, a son of the late James and Ruby Slinkard Brown. He was united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1965, to Diane Husher in Jackson.

He was a 1965 graduate of Jackson Senior High.

Delmer joined the U.S. Army and was given an honorable discharge with the rank of staff sergeant. He then began working for Cotton Belt Railroad and retired as a conductor after 30 years of faithful employment. After retiring, he began working for the law firm of Slichter, Bogard and Denton as a railroad consultant. He and Diane traveled extensively for the firm for 15 years.

Delmer belonged to several clubs and organizations, including Eagles Aerie 2693, Elks Lodge No. 639, Americana Legion Post 5, United Transportation Union 933, United Sportsman's Club of Jefferson City and Meadow Lake Country Club. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Delmer is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Brown; brothers, Ronnie (Marilyn) Brown and Stephen (Mary Lou) Brown; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Van) Rudolph, Barbara (Bob) Taylor, Terry (Dan) Reside and Linda Brown; brother-in-law, Robert (Sally) Husher; and mother-in-law, Sue Husher.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Renee Clark; an infant brother, James and Mark Brown; mother-in-law, Thelma Johnson; father-in-law, Robert Husher; and nephew, Scott Carmack.

Private service for the family were held Wednesday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Jefferson City Relay for Life.
