Deborah Wright

Deborah Lynn Wright, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 6, 1951, in Pigott, Arkansas, to Walter Wright and Wanda Smart.

Deborah had a master's degree in accounting and taught at Madisonville Community College in Madisonville, Kentucky, retiring after 30 years. She loved reading and traveling, which included foreign travel. She loved her two cats and making and giving away jewelry to family and friends. Deborah was very loving and warm and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her parents, Walter and Wanda Wright of Cape Girardeau; aunt and uncles, Ivan Smart of Greenway, Arkansas, and Catherine (Jack) Webb of Clarksville, Tennessee; Don (Peggy) Wright of St. Louis; Sammye (Bill) Ratliff of Arnold, Missouri; Nellie Sanders of Memphis, Tennessee; Leola Robstock of Kennett, Missouri; Pat (Bill) Casey of Sikeston; Gordon (Shelia) Wright of Cape Girardeau; and Jodi (Doug) Neislein of Cape Girardeau; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Parry officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
