HOLLANDALE, Miss. -- Graveside services for Mary Oates Crowe, 87, of Hollandale and formerly of Hayti, Missouri, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hollandale City Cemetery in Hollandale. She passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Magnolia Gardens in Greenville, Mississippi.

Mary was born in 1933 to Sidney Preston and Ethel Perkins Oates. Originally from Hayti, she attended Southeast Missouri State College and the Mississippi State College for Women (now Mississippi University for Women) before marrying Glenn Edward Crowe in 1953.

She was a faithful member of the Hollandale Baptist Church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Eileen Oates Chaffin.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Sue (Bill) Seratt of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Kim (David) Furr of Hollandale; grandchildren, Lamar (Merideth) Furr, Mary Mason Furr (Brandon) Bailey and Elizabeth Seratt; and great-grandchildren, Marlee Furr, John David Furr, Sydney Elise Bailey and Allyson Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to donate to Baptist Children's Village or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Boone Funeral Home in Leland, Mississippi, is in charge of arrangements.
