David Alan Sailer, 61, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 9, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, son of Calvin Victor and Verla M. Voges Sailer. He and Kandi Rapp were married July 3, 1981, in Jackson.

David was an owner and operator for Sailer Roofing for his entire working career.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical United Church of Christ. David's hobbies were fishing, spending time at the lake and gardening. He proudly spent time helping and donating material to help the senior citizens of the church and community. His true enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandsons.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years of marriage, Kandi Sailer; two sons, Joshua David (Tara) Sailer of Jackson and Jacob Daniel (Kali) Sailer of Hayward, California; his mother, Verla Sailer; a sister, Lisa (Kevin) Elfrink of Fruitland; and mother-in-law, Judith Bryant of Jackson.

Also surviving are four grandsons, Oliver, Calvin, Connor and Elliot Sailer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Sailer.

Memorial visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Debra Tracy officiating. Inurnment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family suggests contributions be made to Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Department.
