SCOTT CITY -- Glenn Earl "Bud" Avery, 64, of Scott City died Sunday, April 4, 2021, in Cape Girardeau County. He was born Oct. 26, 1956, in St. Louis to Calvin Ray and Verla May Robertson Avery. He was a housepainter all his life. Bud loved fishing and spent his last day on earth doing what he loved. He also enjoyed hunting and camping and was always willing to help anyone in need...

SCOTT CITY -- Glenn Earl "Bud" Avery, 64, of Scott City died Sunday, April 4, 2021, in Cape Girardeau County.

He was born Oct. 26, 1956, in St. Louis to Calvin Ray and Verla May Robertson Avery.

He was a housepainter all his life. Bud loved fishing and spent his last day on earth doing what he loved. He also enjoyed hunting and camping and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his significant other, Ruth McMillan of Scott City; a brother, Dennis (Garlett) Avery of Doniphan, Missouri; sisters, Linda (Neil) Kimbrell of Ladson, South Carolina and Teena (Lisa) Haglund of Toccoa, Georgia. He was a beloved father figure and uncle to many as well as a faithful friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Alan, Gaylon and George Avery.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

Memorial donations are suggested to Adult and Teen Challenge Mid America.
