Verna Mae Ringwald, 90, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 22, 1930, in Delta to Albert and Ruth Roe Crites. She and Paul H. Ringwald were married April 14, 1951, in Delta. They had been married 66 years when Paul passed away Oct. 7, 2017.

Verna worked 15 years at the former Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau and 17 years in housekeeping at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1995.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include five children, Sharon (Bob) Reed, Brenda (Ken) Phelps, David (the late Donna) Ringwald, Ruth (Don) Seabaugh and Harold (Kathy) Ringwald, all of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Richard (Gloria) Crites and Bobby Joe (Joy) Crites.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Donna Ringwald; and five siblings, Roy, Earl and Junior "Lee" Crites, Mary McCarty and Shelby Belcher.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church in Jackson.
