Margaret Ann Pfeiffer, 78, of Jackson passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, with her family at her side at her home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Vernon and Mabel Schlichting Guth. She married Robert C. "Bob" Pfeiffer April 29, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.

Margaret was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she had been a member for many years.

She attended school at Oak Ridge, St. Paul Lutheran School and was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School. She attended a business college for a year in Cape Girardeau.

Margaret enjoyed a long, successful career in banking and finance, having worked at the former Jackson Exchange Bank, Cape County Bank and later Edward D. Jones.

Survivors include two children, Tim Pfeiffer of Jackson and Melissa (Dan) Spiegel of Chicago; a granddaughter, Melinda (Will) Hardison of Troy, Missouri; two siblings, Laverne (Jerry) Krauss of Perryville, Missouri, and Richard Guth of Nashville, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Donna Pfeiffer of Columbia, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Cletus (Jan) Pfeiffer of Rochester, Minnesota; and stepmother, Jacqueline Guth of Festus, Missouri.

Also surviving are loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Pfeiffer; father, Vernon Guth; and mother, Mabel Guth.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the church or charity of the donor's choice.
