ST. LOUIS -- Deborah Kay Essman Chappius passed away Sunday, May 31, 2021.

She was born Dec. 5, 1961.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Constance M. Essman; father, Charles G. Essman; siblings, Connie L. Copeland, Rhonda L. Essman, Wrick C. Essman and Karen L. Holloman.

She was a much-loved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many. She is survived by William G. (Sue) Turner, Russell D. (Kathy) Turner, Sandra (Gary) Pippins, Susie (Jim) Brown and Beverly (Fred) Matthews. Debbie had a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews who loved her dearly.

She was kindhearted and always helpful to her family.

Debbie had a great love for animals. Family members have taken each of them into their homes for permanent placement to ease Debbie's heart while she was ill. Debbie will be eternally grateful for the love and care given to her this last year from her brother, Russ, and his wife, Kathy. The family will also remember this service given to its baby sister with love.

Debbie's family would like to thank her co-workers at SoutheastHEALTH in Cape Girardeau for their love, generosity and support during the holidays and Debbie's illness

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kutis Affton Chapel at 10151 Gravois Road in St. Louis.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
