Frank Thomas Ellinger, son of the late Edward F. and Aleene Hockersmith Ellinger, was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Commerce, Missouri, and departed his life peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 85 years.

Frank was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church and a resident of Scott City. He was retired from Thorngate Ltd in Chaffee, Missouri.

Frank was funny, had a great sense of humor, and loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed Bingo, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and going to the Casino. He loved watching baseball and, although he liked the Cardinals, his favorite team was the Cubs. In his younger years, he also enjoyed traveling with his family.

On Oct. 22, 1954, he was united in marriage to Erma Lee Eakins in Scott City. She preceded him in death April 17, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Mike) Schaefer and Karen (Mark) Asbridge; two sons, Roger Ellinger and Ryan (Stephanie) Ellinger; sister, Jane (Bill) McMillan; son-in-law, Don Crews; six grandchildren, Brandon and Terra Crews, Jessica Landis, Courtney Schaefer, Ryan Ellinger and Justin Asbridge; 10 great-grandchildren, Cole, Aubrie and Gracie Ellinger, Ethan Asbridge, Bradon and Lila Lueders, Lilyan and Clara Landis, Brooklyn and Katelyn Beckett; three great-great-grandchildren, Xander, Lucas and Aubrey Crews; his significant other, Donna Davidson; and special furry friend, Ella.

Besides his wife and parents, Frank was preceded in death a daughter, Cindy Crews; granddaughter, Amy Crews; and by sister, Mary Carroll.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will then be conducted at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the German Evangelical Cemetery at Dutchtown.
