Rhonda Phelps, 58, of Jackson went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 27, 2021, while vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama, after a short battle with cancer.

She was surrounded by her loving husband of 38 years, Floyd Phelps, and her only child, her loving daughter, Mandy Phelps, also of Jackson.

Rhonda's last wish was to walk the ocean beach with her husband and daughter, something they had never been able to do as a family. That wish was granted in her final days, and she was at peace.

Rhonda was born Nov. 27, 1962, in Amarillo, Texas, to her loving parents, Mikey and Landon Adams.

She graduated from Greenville (Missouri) High School in 1981. Rhonda and Floyd were united in marriage Dec. 22, 1983.

On April 19, 1985, Rhonda's world was changed forever, as she and Floyd welcomed a baby girl into the world, Mandy. She was Rhonda's angel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Landon; brother, Johnny; and sister, Regina.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd; daughter, Mandy; and two beautiful granddaughters, Kinley and Alli, whom she loved deeply. She called them her "heart and soul." Rhonda is also survived by her sister, Dede (Ron) VerVynck of Cape Girardeau; brother, Matt Adams of Percy, Illinois; her loving mother, Mikey Adams of Weldon Springs, Missouri; a very best friend, Sherry Weber; and many special nephews and nieces.

At Rhonda's request, there were no services.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Rhonda had recently given her heart to the Lord at Connection Point Church in Jackson. Therefore, her family knows she is now at the right hand of the Lord, looking after her loved ones.
