Christopher D. "Chris" Bohnsack, 44, of Jackson unexpectedly passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1976, in Cape Girardeau to Darell and Dolores Jansen Bohnsack.

Chris was a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School. He subsequently attended Southeast Missouri State University and earned a bachelor of science degree in business.

Chris worked several years at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson and several years at Kohlfeld Distributing in Jackson.

He was a fourth-degree knight of Bishop Timon K.C. Council 6405 in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a son, Clayton Bohnsack of Jackson; his parents, Darell and Dolores Bohnsack of Jackson; a brother, Craig (Elizabeth) Bohnsack, and children, Chase, Colton and Cohen of Cape Girardeau; his former wife, Stacy Palmer Bohnsack of Jackson; aunts and uncles, Randal (the late Debbie) Bohnsack, Diane (Paul) Keller, Yvonne (Jamie) Crawford, Jerene (John) Lovell and Gina (the late Leroy) Jansen; and several cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleo and Freida Bohnsack and Simon and Theodora Jansen; an uncle, Leroy Jansen; and an aunt, Debbie Bohnsack.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. There will be a K.C. rosary at 10:15 a.m.

The Rev. Randolph Tochtrop will celebrate Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Friends are invited to gather at 2:30 p.m. for graveside rites at St. John's Cemetery in Leopold, Missouri.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Koeller, John Randol, Chris Martin, Michael Martin, Chad Beussink, Matt Edwards, Bobby LaRue and Matt Peters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Bishop Timon K.C. Council are appreciated.
