BENTON, Mo. -- Charles Ervin Robinson, 83, of Benton, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 at his home. He was born April 9, 1938, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Lester and Anna Mae Garner Robison. He married Shirley Robinson on Aug. 4, 1956.

He was a coal miner and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Benton; two daughters, Tammy (Ray) Williams of Nashville, Illinois, and Kelly (Alan) Bryant of Benton; three brothers, Lester (Carol) Robison, Jr., of Tilden, Illinois, Dennis (Billie) Robison of Pinckneyville, Illinois and James Robison of Sparta, Illinois; a sister, Mary Ledbetter of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, Dale (Brandy) Jones, Jr., Melissa (Matt) Wilkerson, Jamie Whited, Phillip Keeton, Mitchell Bryant, Anthony (Jackie) Bryant, Nicholas Wayland, Charles Dobyns, Ashton Dobyns, Nathan (Alexis) Bryant, Kamryn Bryant, Ray Williams, Jr. and his BFF George Kirkland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kim Robinson; two brothers, Danny Robinson and Johnny Robison; a sister, Donna Robison; a granddaughter, Nicole Jones and a grandson, Brandon Jones.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. Eulogy at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by Trent Lane.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, Illinois with full military rights.
