Ralph Lyndell Pender of Cape Girardeau, 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1939, to Lindel and June Moore Pender. Ralph married Judith Burlbaugh in 1985, and she preceded him in death in 2001.

Ralph worked in his younger years at International Shoe factory and then went on to work as a boat operator for the Missouri Dry Dock. He attended Juden School and Washington School. Ralph was of the Baptist faith and proudly drove the church bus in the 1970s. He enjoyed gardening and taking his dog on car rides.

Ralph is survived by his two daughters, Mary Kathleen (Leslie) Moll and Charlotte McClard; stepchildren, Mike (Candy) Burlbaugh, Cindy Menz, Penny (Jim) Compas, Joe Windeknecht and Shannon Windeknecht; daughter-in-law, Jackie Pender; two sisters, Sharon Sticht and Stacia Elliot; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Pender; three brothers, Tommy, Paul David and James (Jody) Pender; sister, Erma Sticht; and his parents.

The family will host their own graveside service.
