Orene Perry

Orene "Jo" Perry, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.

She was born April 19, 1929, to Herschel Wagner and Magdalene Layton. She and Henry Leonard Perry were married at Piggott, Arkansas, on Oct. 8, 1948. He preceded her in death Aug. 10, 2010.

She worked at Davis Electric as a line worker. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Eastern Star and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 1 for more than 15 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Eddie) Brooks of Cape Girardeau; a grandchild, Todd (his significant other Rachel Reed) of Jackson; and a great-grandchild, Sierra Brooks of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister and a brother.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
