BENTON, Mo. -- Thomas Gerald Murrah of Benton, son to the late James and Evelyn Berry Murrah, was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Jackson, Mississippi, and departed this life Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at his home at the age of 83 years.

He married Judy Dennis on Feb. 20, 1971, and she survives of the home.

Thomas was a mechanic for Wiethop Truck Sales for 28 years. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John (Rebecca) Murrah of Cape Girardeau; four sisters-in-law, Betty Reich, Bonnie Knight, Sandy Cremeens and Marty Adams; and a granddaughter, Norah.

There will be a memorial graveside service with full military honors at 11 a.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
