Scott Carter Toll, 57, of Jackson passed away on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, at The Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 4, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, son of Jack and Marilynne Anne Baker Toll. He and Lisa Stamp were married on Jan. 27, 1990.

Scott was a Cape Girardeau Central High School graduate and attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He worked in sales for Transelectric Inc, AT&T and Washington National Insurance. He had a great understanding of electronics and computers. If you knew him, you knew Scott had a sense of humor and that's how he faced his battle with cancer.

Loving survivors include his wife, Lisa of nearly 32 years of marriage; father, Jack (Marty) Toll of Mountain View, Missouri; a brother, Lee Toll of Jackson; seven sisters, Susan Crites of Jackson, Christy (Grady) Yount of Cape Girardeau, Jackie (Greg) Twidwell of Piedmont, Missouri, Patti (Ali) Raouf of Blue Springs, Missouri, Barb (Greg) Cagle of Jackson, Sandi (Chris) Essner of Cape Girardeau and Kiersa (Jerome) Dubinski of Columbia, Missouri.

Also surviving are mother and father-in-law Homer and Sue Stamp of Scott City; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by mother, Marilynne Toll, a brother John E. Toll Jr., and his grandparents.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Fruitland.

An invitation is extended to family and friends to attend the service in honor of Scott. However, the family would like to encourage that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing for the safety of all in attendance.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
