Charles Stanford Frey, 82, of Scott City died Wednesday, Oct, 6, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Charles Stanford Frey, 82, of Scott City died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 26, 1939, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Stanford Theodore and Lillie Susan “Alma” Miller Frey. He married Linda Jo Peetz on May 21, 1966. She preceded him in death Sept. 9, 1999.

He was a manager for Ameren for 50 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City and the Kiwanis Club in Scott City.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff (Joy) Frey of Kelso, Missouri, and Joe (Rachel) Frey of Scott City; a daughter, Amy Frey of Scott City; two brothers, David and Michael (Susan) Frey of Scott City; a sister, Carolyn (Dean) Matthews of Heber Springs, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Ann Frey of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Katie, Zachary (Taylor) and Jacob; and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy.

Charles was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Frey.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m., followed by a K. of C. service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America, Missouri Chapter, 3286 Ivanhoe, St. Louis, MO 63139 or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
