ADVANCE, Mo. -- Donald Lee Umfleet, 80, of Advance, passed away Feb. 16, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. ADVANCE, Mo. -- Donald Lee Umfleet, 80, of Advance, passed away Feb. 16, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Painton, Missouri, the son of Lawrence and Thelma Legrand Umfleet. Don and Patsy Liggett were united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1983, at Bell City, Missouri, and she survives of the home.

Don was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked as a welder at Arvin in Dexter, Missouri, for many years. He was a member of the UAW 1930. He had also been a cattle farmer.

He attended Bell City United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time fishing and gardening.

Survivors include: his wife, Patsy Umfleet; a son, Terry (Sonya Watkins) Umfleet of Advance; a stepson, Johnny (Betsy Brenn) Wright of Walls, Mississippi; two stepdaughters, Kim Elliott of Indianapolis, Indiana and Teresa Mason of Bloomfield, Missouri; two brothers, Mike Umfleet of Monet, Missouri, and Dennis Umfleet of Granite City, Illinois; two sisters, Vicki (Rodney) Phelps of Advance and Sue Ann (John) Thompson of Florida; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Garner; eight brothers, Sonny, Larry, Bill, Kenneth, Roger, Richard, Herman and Cletus Umfleet.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
