ULLIN, Ill. -- Martha C. Ledbetter, 82, of Ullin passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, with her family by her side at her home. Martha was born April 13, 1939, in Mounds, Illinois, daughter to the late Wayne K. and Bea Griffith Oakes. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wetaug, Illinois, and a retired secretary for the Pulaski County Tax Assessor's Office in Mound City, Illinois...

ULLIN, Ill. -- Martha C. Ledbetter, 82, of Ullin passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, with her family by her side at her home.

Martha was born April 13, 1939, in Mounds, Illinois, daughter to the late Wayne K. and Bea Griffith Oakes.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wetaug, Illinois, and a retired secretary for the Pulaski County Tax Assessor's Office in Mound City, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lannes and Dickey Oakes.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jesse Ledbetter of Ullin; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Donna Ledbetter of Tamms, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Billy White of Olive Branch, Illinois; two sisters, Betty Falconite of Paducah, Kentucky, and Mary (Gary) Vaughn of Mounds; four grandchildren, Jessica Grace, Tyler Ledbetter, Ashley Misner and Keith Bigham; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Illinois.

Funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Brent Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Ullin Cemetery in Ullin.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the Church of Christ in Wetaug in memory of Martha Ledbetter.
