Mariah Ann Hodges was born Aug. 6, 1992, in Cape Girardeau to Dodie Hodges and Leonard Beal. She departed this earthly life Saturday, April 9, 2022, at home surrounded by loved ones.

Mariah attended Cape Girardeau public schools and was a proud graduate of One City's Work Life Program. She wanted to further her education in the hospitality industry, but was unable to do so due to ongoing illness. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior in May 2021 and was a member of Grace Church under Pastors Brett and Taylor Smith.

Mariah was a very loving and caring young lady who cared deeply for those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her pets, which she loved dearly. She also enjoyed decorating, cooking, shopping, taking walks by the river and collecting Pioneer Woman decor. Mariah was full of energy and loved to travel and have fun.

Mariah leaves behind cherished loved ones: her mother, Dodie Hale; stepfather, Brian Hale; stepfather, Brent Adams of Cape Girardeau; father, Leonard Beal of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Brittany Adams, Toni Hale and Malia Beal; brothers, Jonah Adams, Zachary Hale, Brian J. Hale, Tylor Young and Anthony Beal; grandparents Gladys F. Powders and Wilma and Leroy Hale; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.
